The Quest: A Personal Pilgrimage of Your Heart
Join Us in Making a Difference This Christmas

Dear Friends and Supporters,

This Christmas, we invite you to embark on a journey of the heart by joining “The Quest,” an initiative of CRETIO in collaboration with Gebirah, both established under the inspiration of the Spirit of Opus Dei.

Together, we are answering an urgent call from His Beatitude Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, to support the Christian communities of the Holy Land.

The crisis facing these communities is dire: dwindling numbers of Christians threaten the vibrancy of life in East Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza, impacting not only Christians but the broader population who rely on them for essential services like schools and hospitals.

Yet, amidst the challenges, there is hope. We believe that the future of Christians in the Holy Land lies in creating opportunities for meaningful work, community support, and cultural preservation. That’s where “The Quest” comes in.

What is The Quest?

“The Quest” is a global platform for young professionals dedicated to co-creating impactful cultural, social, and economic projects in the Holy Land. Through collaboration, innovation, and mentorship, we aim to:

  • Empower Local Communities: Providing tools and opportunities for sustainable growth.

  • Foster Cultural Exchange: Building bridges between diverse backgrounds.

  • Inspire Change: Turning global goodwill into local impact.

How The Quest Works

At the heart of The Quest are interdisciplinary teams called Pods. Each Pod, composed of 4-6 young professionals from around the world, includes at least one local member from the Holy Land to ensure cultural and contextual relevance. These Pods collaborate to:

  • Design and implement pilot projects with measurable local impact.

  • Address pressing challenges in areas such as education, economic development, and cultural preservation.

  • Present their outcomes during an award ceremony in Jerusalem.

Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus and the cradle of our faith, faces mounting challenges. From economic instability to cultural polarization, its communities—Christian and non-Christian alike—struggle to envision secure and prosperous futures.

By joining The Quest, you become part of a global effort to:

Your Impact

Your involvement in The Quest can help:

  • Ensure that a 24-year-old Bethlehem Christian woman sees a future living in the city of her 800+ year family lineage.

  • Console at a Shabbat dinner, a young Jewish mother whose sons have been burdened with the horrors of war and are now laden with hatred for those whom they once called friends.

  • Empower a young Arabic language teacher and scholar from East Jerusalem that she will have meaningful work in the land where her family has dwelt for thousands of years.
